Product Overview
Item Description
Product Description This Kindel reproduction from the Winterthur Museum is hand-crafted of solid Mahogany and is faithful to the original made in New York between 1810 and 1820 by Duncan Phyfe. The fine reeding on the scroll back, the seat, padded arm and arm supports duplicate the superb reeding found on the original. The curvilinear shape of this chair was inspired by the Stella Curulis or folding stool with shaped base, found on ancient Roman magistrates chairs. The ottoman, 83 is an interpretation specifically designed to compliment the chair.
