The design was inspired by various forms and materials collected on her recent journeys across the globe. Maketto is a Japanese word meaning inchesmarket,inches and was chosen to describe the shape and construction technique of the chair, which resembles a traditional market basket. Fabricated entirely by hand, the Maketto Bar Stool is clean in form and elaborate in material and technique.
